Antonio the Baker
We stayed with a baker in Cali. His name was Antonio. He was smart, hospitable, and most importantly, a couchsurfer. He also brought us plenty of delicious, buttery Colombian bread. (Imagine an over-sized croissant).
While many warned of its dangers, Cali turned out to be an amazing city - the most Colombian of all Colombian cities. Loud, disorganized, animated. We would’ve stayed longer, but new circumstances were pushing us south … fast.

RV Quebec
We got a ride to Cali from a Quebecoise family. Ania and I met them back in Panama while waiting for the boat that never showed up.
They drove all the way from Montreal and were headed for Argentina. It was the most comfortable four hours of our journey and when we jumped out in Cali’s suburbs, Ania and I thanked them and agreed we would meet a third time down the road.
