Life is a shipwreck …
… but we must not forget to sing in the lifeboats ~ Voltaire
A red wooden boat slumped sideways on the beach in Baie Saint Paul. We spotted the beast when we rounded a bend in the river.
Genevieve ran towards it and climbed inside. Claudia and I followed.
There was a public beach nearby, but few people walked through the shipwreck area so we set up camp in the sand nearby.
I cracked open an Alexander Keith’s, the cheapest beer in town, and gathered driftwood for the night’s fire.
Voltaire’s quote came to mind first and then one of Einstein’s:
“Whoever undertakes to set himself up as a judge of Truth and Knowledge is shipwrecked by the laughter of the gods.”
