Los Tres Hermanos
We ended up camping on the beach outside Hostal Los Tres Hermanos.
The place was run by three young brothers that inherited beachfront property from their rich father. They were usually high and drunk and talked about plans to visit London.
Everything they sold was overpriced so we cooked plain oatmeal and pasta for three days. At least the joints were free.
They seemed like happy Nicaraguans.

Wasted Youth
A television got thrown in the backyard so Ania and I decided to paint it. We hung it from a tree above an alleyway.
Children from the projects always scream and play in that alleyway. The message translates to “Wasted Youth” or “Deprived Youth” - hopefully conveying that television is a waste of time and imagination - especially during childhood.
We wanted the kids (and their parents) to look up and see it. The piece lasted five days before someone knocked it down.
I waited a week and put it back in the tree. A little higher, of course.
As of today, it’s still there.
